![]() ![]() Select the new 6Ghz option to view your Wi-Fi 6E results! Like with simulated 6GHz results, you can view the measured results in any workspace by selecting the 6Ghz (or All) selection from bottom of the page. You can just start your surveys and count on Ekahau Sidekick 2 getting all the needed information from all the audible Wi-Fi radios - no matter frequency. Ekahau Sidekick 2 automatically scans all the channels on all the frequencies. ![]() There are no additional hurdles for scanning & surveying 6GHz frequencies. Our previous Ekahau Sidekick is still perfectly valid device for scanning old frequencies, but it cannot scan the Wi-Fi 6E networks. To get started you first need to have our new Ekahau Sidekick 2 ™ device. You can now scan, survey & troubleshoot the 6GHz frequency just like the existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Want to know more about Ekahau? Schedule a demo today. In Ekahau AI Pro 11.0.0 we introduced 6Ghz simulated network support and now in Ekahau AI Pro 11.1.0 we are bringing you finally full 6Ghz capabilities by introducing 6Ghz measurement support.Īdditionally, we are introducing the only device that allows you to scan the 6GHz frequency and Wi-Fi 6E networks: Ekahau Sidekick 2 ™. That’s it! By following these steps, you can accurately determine device offsets using an Ekahau Sidekick and Ekahau AI Pro. The visualization will then apply the offset so you can accurately see the signal strength for your device. To visualize the offsets, go to your signal strength visualization and change from “view as measured” to “view as my iPhone 11” or whichever device you’ve created a profile for. Now, you have a device profile set up in Ekahau AI Pro. Configure the offsets based on the difference in signal strength you identified and hit close. Go to Project device profiles, click add, and create a profile with the technology and maximum supported bandwidth of your device. Once you’ve identified the difference in signal strength, you can then create a device profile in Ekahau AI Pro. Compare the RSSI readings between your Sidekick 2 and your device to see how they hear the wireless network. Set up a test access point or have your access point in range that you know you’re going to be testing from, then set up your Sidekick 2 right next to the device you’re planning to do the testing against. The first step is to understand the differences between the device you’re designing or validating for and your Sidekick 2. In this video, you’ll learn how to determine device offsets using an Ekahau Sidekick 2.
